Historical Tours

Guided Tour through the city

The eventful guided tour ( 10 people and over) through the historic old “royal free city” of Rust explains the structural development of the place from its beginnings as a fishing village to a city. The significance of the status of a “free city” in the past and today is also explained. Art lovers will also get a lot of interesting background information when visiting art-historical treasures such as the Seehof, the Gruber House and the three churches of the town.

Tuesday:  free-of-charge with the Neusiedler See Card, without NSC € 7.00/person
Saturday: with the Neusiedler See Card € 4.00/person, without NSC € 7.00/person

€ 110,00/group (up to 35 persons),
€ 110,00/group (up to 50 persons)

Night watchman – tour

During an evening torch and adventure walk with the night watchman through the romantic and illuminated streets of the historic old town of Rust, you will learn interesting facts about the city and the tasks of the night watchman. Discover the peculiarities and mystery of the city at night. The old squares and houses tell us their exciting stories.

On the 20th April; 27th April; 4th May; 18th May; 25th May; 1st June; 8th June; 15th June; 22nd June; 6th July; 13th July; 20th July; 27th July; 3rd August; 10th August; 17th August; 24th August; 31st August; 7th September; 14th September; 5th October; 12th October; 26th October 2022

Prices:

11,00 € / person (20% off with the Burgenland Card)
children younger than 15 are free – 2,50 € / torch

Tour through the city museum – Kremayrhouse

The Kremayrhaus was donated to the city of Rust in 1986 by cultural patron Rudolf Kremayr. The elaborately and lovingly restored town house combines history and art in a unique way. The museum presents works of art, antiques and important pieces from the city archives.
